Repeat Winners at Sugar Bowl Metro Swimming Championships

For the second year in a row, Mandeville High School and Jesuit High School won the girls' and boys' titles at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Metro Swimming Championships. The event concluded on Saturday at the UNO Athletic Center. It was third straight boys' title for the Blue Jays.

Mandeville won the championship with 334 points, followed closely by Dominican (299.5 points). Mt. Carmel was third with 270.5 points. On the boys' side, Jesuit's 397.5 points gave it a substantial edge over second-place Mandeville (276 points). St. Paul's was third with 200 points.

Mandeville senior Megan Loop was the Outstanding Swimmer for the girls after winning both the 200 free style (1:52.29) and the 500 freestyle (5:02.53). Chris Simmons earned the boys most valuable swimmer honors after winning the 50 free (21.57) and the 100 free (47.44).
