With Alabama and Penn State meeting this Saturday in Tuscaloosa, it's only fitting to turn back the Sugar Bowl clock to 1979 for the legendary meeting between the top-ranked Nittany Lions and No. 2 Alabama in the Louisiana Superdome. Selected as the third-best Sugar Bowl of all-time during the recent 75th Anniversary celebration of the Bowl, the game featured what is widely considered the greatest play in Sugar Bowl history - Alabama linebacker Barry Krauss making a fourth-down goal line stop in the final seconds to preserve the lead (pictured). The victory gave legendary coach Bear Bryant another national championship, holding off "young" upstart Joe Paterno who was "only" in his 13th season at Penn State.
