Johnson closed his senior season with all-state and all-metro recognition, as well as being named to the All-Decade Team. He was a key component for a defense which allowed just six points per game to help the Raiders to the state championship game. During the month of November, he collected 46 tackles with three interceptions and a pair of quarterback sacks. He also returned 16 punts for 232 yards (14.5 yards per return) and stood out on offense with three catches for 35 yards in a second-round playoff victory over Jesuit. A two-time all-district selection and a three-year letterman, Johnson will represent Louisiana in the 2010 Bayou Bowl against all-stars from Texas. For the season, he tallied seven interceptions and returned two punts for touchdowns. He has committed to play at Michigan in the fall.

The Greater New Orleans Sports Selection Committee has been selecting an Amateur Athlete of the Month each month since 1958. The athlete must be a native of the greater New Orleans area or must compete for a team in the metropolitan region in order to be eligible. Each of the monthly award winners will be honored in the summer at the Greater New Orleans Sports Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Allstate Sugar Bowl.
