Sugar Bowl Hosts 58 Volleyball Teams for AAU Regional

The Allstate Sugar Bowl sponsored the 2013 Girls Volleyball AAU Super Regionals hosted by Louisiana Volleyball on June 1-2 at Loyola University and the Hilton Rivercenter. The event featured 58 teams and nearly 600 young athletes from eight different states playing multiple matches over the two-day event. It is the fourth year that the Sugar Bowl has sponsored the event.

14-Year Olds: MAVA Select (pool play winner)
15-Year Olds: Memphis Metro Nike Elite def. NASA, 2-0 (25-17, 25-16)
16-Year Olds: Crescent City Juniors def. Baton Rouge, 2-0 (25-23, 25-22)
17-Year Olds: Texas Tornados Black def. Louisiana Elite, 2-0 (25-22, 25-19)
18-Year Olds: Louisiana Nfiniti def. Team Sting, 2-1 (21-25, 25-22, 16-14)

In addition to sponsoring the New Orleans AAU Super Regionals in recent years, the Sugar Bowl also sponsors an annual collegiate volleyball classic hosted by Tulane University and it sponsored the JVA World Challenge in 2010.

The mission of the Allstate Sugar Bowl is to sponsor and promote amateur sporting events which will foster revenue and spark economic growth in the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana. Through all of its year-round slate of events, the organization has generated over $2 billion of economic impact for the city and the state in the last decade alone.
