24th Annual Sugar Bowl Classic ~ January 1, 1958
#7 Ole Miss 39 (Final: 9-1-1, #7)
Texas 7 (Final: 6-4-1, #11)

Ole Miss' Raymond Brown was more than Texas could cope with in the Rebs' 39-7 win. The first and only unanimous choice for the Miller Trophy, Brown scored twice, once on a 92-yard run from scrimmage, and passed for a third touchdown.

Turnovers, in the form of six fumbles and four interceptions, doomed Darrell Royal's return to the Sugar Bowl as a coach.

Actually, the game was "over," 32-7, when Brown got a bad snap on a punt and dodged defenders deep in his own end zone before breaking free and galloping for the touchdown - officially 92 yards from scrimmage, but well over 100 yards in reality.
