Sugar Bowl Hosts 67 Volleyball Teams in AAU Regional

The Allstate Sugar Bowl sponsored the 2012 Girls Volleyball AAU Super Regionals hosted by Louisiana Volleyball over Memorial Day weekend at Loyola University. The event featured 67 teams and nearly 700 young athletes from eight different states playing multiple matches over the two-day event. It is the third year that the Sugar Bowl has sponsored the event.

12-Year Olds: Louisiana VIA (Covington, La)
13-Year Olds: NOLA Lyndsay (New Orleans, La.)
14-Year Olds: Memphis Metro (Memphis, Tenn.)
15-Year Olds: Crescent City Juniors (New Orleans, La.)
16-Year Olds: Texas Tornados (Houston, Texas)
17-Year Olds: Louisiana VIA (Covington, La.)
18-Year Olds: Rocket City Volleyball Club (Huntsville, Ala.)
In addition to sponsoring the New Orleans AAU Super Regionals in recent years, the Sugar Bowl also sponsors an annual collegiate volleyball classic hosted by Tulane University and it sponsored the JVA World Challenge in 2010.
The mission of the Allstate Sugar Bowl is to sponsor and promote amateur sporting events which will foster revenue and spark economic growth in the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana. Through all of its year-round slate of events, the organization has generated over $2 billion of economic impact for the city and the state in the last decade alone.
