TOP TEN REMAIN THE SAME IN BCS STANDINGS

SEC Has Six Teams in Top 25

After one of the least tumultuous weeks of the college football season, the top 10 teams in the latest BCS Standings remain exactly the same. It is the first time in 10 years that the top 10 of the standings have remained the same. The University of Oregon remains No. 1 despite struggling to defeat Cal on the road. Auburn, which clinched the SEC West with a win over Georgia, is No. 2. TCU and Boise State remain No. 3 and No. 4, respectively, but the Broncos closed the gap considerably after a big win over Idaho while the Frogs had a close one with San Diego State. LSU rounds out the top five. The top two teams in the final BCS standings play for the BCS National Championship in Glendale this year.

Stanford, which also had a close call on Saturday, is No. 6, while Wisconsin, which tallied an amazing 83 points, is No. 7. Nebraska checks in at No. 8 while Ohio State and Oklahoma State round out the first 10.

Making big jumps this week were Virginia Tech and South Carolina. The Hokies went from No. 20 to No. 16 after a win over North Carolina and South Carolina's win over Florida helped them jump from No. 23 to No. 17. Newcomers to the standings this week are Florida State and Miami from the ACC.

The Southeastern Conference has six ranked teams total, including four in the top 13. The Big 12 has five ranked teams and the Big Ten adds four teams.
