| OREGON LEAPFROGS AUBURN TO NO. 1 IN THE LATEST BCS STANDINGS
SEC Has Three Teams in Top 10 and Six Ranked Overall
The University of Oregon jumped over the University of Auburn to take over the top slot in the latest BCS Standings. Oregon, which had already been No. 1 in the AP poll and the coaches' poll, posted a very impressive 53-32 victory over USC on the road on Saturday. Auburn, also won on Saturday, topping Ole Miss, 51-31. This marks just the fourth time in the history of the standings that the No. 1 team has slipped from the top position without losing a game - each of the previous four that slipped went on to play in the BCS Championship game. The top two teams in the final BCS standings play for the BCS National Championship in Glendale this year.
TCU, which has allowed just 16 points in five conference games this year, jumps to No. 3, moving ahead of Boise State, which slips despite winning as well. Utah rounds out the top five of the standings, marking the first time in history that three teams from non-automatic qualifying conferences are ranked in the top five.
Alabama is the highest-ranked one-loss team at No. 6. The Crimson Tide has yet another major showdown this weekend as they battle No. 10 LSU in Baton Rouge. Nebraska made a big leap, going from No. 14 to No. 7 after a dominating performance against Missouri, which had been No. 6 and undefeated. Oklahoma and Wisconsin round out the top 10.
