Texas High School Earns Allstate Sugar Bowl High School Regatta Title

Clear Falls High School, from League City, Texas, earned the title at the 2013 Allstate Sugar Bowl High School Regatta, contested Dec. 7-8 on Lake Ponchartrain. Clear Falls finished in the top three in all three races for both divisions to collect the championship.

Jesuit High School of New Orleans finished second in the event, followed by St. Stanislaus from Bay St. Louis, Miss. Fairhope (Ala.) High School and Ocean Springs (Miss.) rounded out the top five.

Sugar Bowl Regattas have been held on Lake Ponchartrain every year since 1935, except during World War II. The original sailing competition is divided up into two separate phases, spread out over four two-day periods, usually weekends, beginning in late November and concluding on New Year's Eve.
