Jesuit Collects Allstate Sugar Bowl Regional Tennis Title

Jesuit High School earned the championship at the 2009 Allstate Sugar Bowl Class 5A Regional Boys Tennis Tournament this past weekend. The Blue Jays won the boys' crown with a victory over Archbishop Rummel. In girls' action, Mount Carmel collected the girls' crown over Assumption.
In individual action, Rummel's Brock Turnbull took home the boys' championship with a win over Taylor Smith from Jesuit, while Mount Carmel's Ellen Edwards held off Indi Mire from Thibodaux for the girls' singles title
In boys' doubles action, Jordan Ezell and Gerard Suhor from Jesuit (pictured) captured the championship over Stephen Joubvert and Cameron Nodier from Brother Martin. Mount Carmel also registered the girls' doubles championship as Meghan deBaroncelli and Gabrielle Roe defeated Erin Hebert and Paige Blanchard from Assumption in the finals.
This was the first year of the Allstate Sugar Bowl's sponsorship of the event.
