Fans Experience Top-Notch Entertainment at Fifth Annual Allstate® Fan Fest
Tuesday, January 11, 2011
The fifth annual Allstate® Fan Fest was a huge success as 29,677 fans came out to enjoy the two-day event, which was located in the Jax Brewery parking lots off Decatur Street in the French Quarter Jan. 2 -3.
The entire event was FREE both days with highlights including concerts by award-winning national-recording artists. This year's headliner was country-music star Darius Rucker (right).
Rucker performed a free concert on Monday, Jan. 3. His success in the country music format was recently recognized at the 43rd Annual CMA Awards when he received the Top New Artist title and again with an ACM Award nomination in the Top Male Vocalist of the Year category.
The other featured performer this year was New Orleans' own Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. Fans from Arkansas and Ohio State, as well as many people from right here in New Orleans enjoyed the excitement and entertainment leading up to the 77th Allstate Sugar Bowl Classic.
The Allstate® Fan Fest has routinely featured free shows from major recording artists including Lady Antebellum, Gin Blossoms, Blues Traveler, Eddie Money and Lifehouse.
The event also includes Allstate® Sugar Bowl official team pep rallies with cheerleaders and bands from both schools, a chance to win a 2011 Allstate Sugar Bowl V.I.P. Game Experience, an appearance by the Allstate A.F.C.A. Good Works Team, photo opportunities with the Allstate Sugar Bowl trophy, a football skills challenge and live bowl game broadcasts.
